Or, your local hardware store carries the 1-1/4" and 1/2" schedule 40 PVC pipe to take it as deep as you need. HOW THE HANDY WELL PUMP WORKS. With only three moving parts that never need replacing, and a lead free brass foot valve with a stainless steel mesh to filter out particles. This is especially helpful when you are using the pump in a pond or lake. The internal piston in the pump casing never requires maintenance. EVEN THE HANDLE IS UNIQUE.A male threaded fitting at the lift pipe that mates with the female thread on the handle. This allows for the removal of the handle for storage when not in use. There is a threaded female cap included with the handle to seal the lift pipe and keep your well clean.An in line one way check valve is incorporated into the handle to help relieve back pressure when moving water overhead and to eliminate the possibility of water siphoning back into the well if a hose is connected to it from a tank. A threaded garden hose adapter is incorporated into the end of the handle to make it easy to attach a hose for water transfer. Durable cushion grip handles are incorporated for comfortable use.
